What awaits you during this activity : Visit "La Belle Epoque" of Aix-les-Bains

Aix les Bains owes its fame to the generosity of nature and underground hot springs appreciated and treasured since ancient times by the Romans. Over many decades they were lost and forgotten.

It was King Victor Amédée III who brought hydrotherapy up to date by building the thermal baths in 1783. But it is only in the 19th century that the cures by water took off and became fashionable. The railroad also brought life to Aix-les-Bains with celebrities coming from all Europe to the small Savoyard city nestled between France’s biggest fresh water lake and mountains!

Palaces, casinos, theaters, and thermal baths still bear witness to this resplendent era. With your cultural guide, Yveline, rewind the incredible history of this period. Discover this extraordinary city by foot while listening to the extravagant stories of yesteryear.

You will stroll through the floral park, admire the Moroccan fountain, and follow in the famous footsteps of the Countess of Balmoral, Queen Victoria.

To finish the visit and the day a couple of scoops of artisanal ice cream. Yveline will tell you more about ice cream making in the 19th century...

A visit rich in history, great stories, and architectural details in the streets of Aix-les-Bains, Riviera des Alpes!

> Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes to stroll the streets of the city.
