What awaits you during this activity : Guided visit of Chamonix

Immerse yourself in the warm ambiance of the character-filled town of Chamonix during your guided tour. Ideally located at the borders of Switzerland and Italy, just a few hours from Lyon and Geneva, this alpine town at the foot of the Bossons Glacier and the majestic Mont-Blanc massif offers extraordinary panoramic views of the mountains. In addition to its privileged location, this charming town, crisscrossed by the Arve River, exudes an authentic charm with its numerous chalets and pedestrian streets. Don't miss this must-visit destination during your stay in the Alps. You will be amazed!

Stroll through its lively streets, where a cosmopolitan culture has been shaped during its glorious past. Discover the architecture of its buildings, some still bearing the traces of their Belle Époque heritage. Marvel at its church, the venue for the traditional annual ceremony honoring the local guides of the valley.

During your guided tour of Chamonix, you will be immersed in its legendary history. As tales of conquest were written, the reputation of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc was established. Your guide will transport you back to a time when the high mountains were still considered a hostile and cursed environment. But that didn't deter the exceptional courage of men and women who soon sought to explore the highest peaks. Chamonix became the starting point for numerous expeditions, which helped build its reputation. The streets of this small town were trodden by the greatest mountaineers, adventurers, and researchers from around the world! You will discover some of them represented on a remarkable mural that you will admire with your guide. You will also travel back to the time of Jacques Balmat and Michel Paccard. These two Chamoniards made history by accomplishing the feat of the first ascent of Mont Blanc in 1786.

During the guided tour of Chamonix, mountain lovers will be inspired by the tales of achievements that have made it the "World Capital of Mountaineering" today.

As the city hosted the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924, it established itself as a meeting place for athletes of all levels. It has since become a renowned ski resort in Haute-Savoie, offering beautiful slopes in the Chamonix Valley. In the summer, it transforms into an extraordinary playground, set in a unique mountain backdrop, welcoming hikers and trail runners.

After your guided tour of Chamonix, feel free to continue your exploration. Take the cable car to the summit of the Mythical Aiguille du Midi with one of our guides. Prefer to visit the legendary Mer de Glace, its cave, and crystal gallery? Then hop on the Montenvers Train for a timeless experience. For those who want an awe-inspiring experience, access the gateway of the glacier on foot with one of our guides.

The town is also just a short distance from Argentière, the animal park of Les Houches, and the thermal baths of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. For transportation, don't hesitate to inquire about our private transfer service.
