The best of December 2021 Welcome to our new monthly column !

The great return of the Nuit de la Glisse

Emblematic event of the ride culture, the Nuit de la Glisse finally made its comeback after two years of absence. We were there this Friday, December 3rd in Annecy to discover new films but also new generations of athletes who, despite restrictions, find a way to train at home and inspire a whole community. Riding, waves, powder and incredible images. We can't wait to see the next edition!

Home Lines

Produced by the brand Picture Organic Clothing, the film exposes a new way of consuming mountain sports, more respectful: no more long-haul flights, nor helicopters for the athletes' drops. Home Lines unveils its 9-day expedition, the concept? "We settle down and enjoy!" Athletes we admire, the beauty of the Beaufortain Massif, homemade and pow pow!

Ingredients that make this production a success since it was presented during the festival We Love Pow Pow organized by Montaz last November.

It's finally available on Youtube, and it's free.

For an inclusive mountain

Mountain sports, often reserved for the most privileged, are opening up to new participants thanks to associations and initiatives aimed at a young, urban population.

This is what Samir Souadji has done with his association APART, supported by Arc'teryx. Every year, a dozen young adults discover mountaineering and the responsibility of a cordée. The mountain then becomes a working tool so that these neophytes from the Parisian suburb can discover the mountain environment and who knows? To consider a professional future there. The first "Expedition Fraternité" was created in 2004, and last August it was the Mont Blanc that was targeted "the Top, the Grail". In February 2022 it is the Copaxi, the second highest volcano in Ecuador at 5897 m, that is on the program.

A good way to allow the youth to catch the virus of the summits and to make their job!

Competitions and blue white and red podiums

With incredible conditions, the sporting fever did not leave us this month! World Cup in Val Thorens, Courchevel and Grand Bornand we were served and happy to rediscover our resorts. Our French teams were able to impose themselves on the podiums, especially with a French podium in biathlon. The atmosphere was also great despite the health situation. On site or watching the results in the office, the Agence 1786 team had a great time!
